Drink at a Mortuary at Linger

Linger

LoHi Neighborhood
2030 W 30th St

Linger is a former mortuary, turned restaurant. That’s right, this Denver bar and restaurant used to have dead people inside it. In fact, it once held the body of Buffalo Bill Cody for six months in 1917! Now it’s packed with Denver locals and is one of Denver’s coolest bars. You can still see the huge “Olinger Mortuaries” sign on top of the building right above the rooftop. It’s a great place to grab a drink and say you drank in a mortuary.

It opened in 2018 and is in the RiNo neighborhood. This bar may be “newer” but is definitely one of the coolest bars in Denver. Death & Co was founded in New York and also has a location in Los Angeles.

Head to Cruise Room is you’re looking for a speakeasy. Located inside The Oxford Hotel is Denver’s first bar post-prohibition bar. It opened in 1933, the day after prohibition ended! This hidden gem is well-preserved and definitely one of the coolest bars in Denver. Step into history as you walk through an Art Deco designed iconic landmark and sip on a martini to gimlet.
