Wineries in Livermore

The Livermore Valley is known for its award-winning wine. A wine enthusiast must take a trip to the vineyards and tasting rooms! Here are some Livermore, California wineries to add to your Tri Valley itinerary.

Las Positas Vineyards in Livermore, California

Las Positas mixes Old World craftsmanship and New World pioneer spirit in their production of world-class wines from their estate winery in Livermore Valley. The vineyard is a two-time winner of the San Francisco Chronicle Competition’s Sweepstakes, winning the Best of Show Award, 2019 Best Red, and 2024 Best White.

Wente Vineyards in Livermore, CA

Wente Vineyards offers a rich legacy of winemaking that all started in 1908 when the first Chardonnay vines were planted in the Livermore Valley. Visitors can enjoy the stunning vineyard landscapes while sampling wine, eating at their grill, or playing a round of golf.

Retzlaff Vineyards in Livermore Valley

Retzlaff Vineyards is one of the oldest vineyards in the Livermore Valley and is dedicated to organic winemaking practices. Visitors can indulge in a wine-tasting experience at the estate’s vineyards where they are greeted by the friendly staff, many of whom have been with the vineyard for many years. And be sure to check out their 46-year-old vine thatโ€™s growing alongside their tasting room.

Electric Bike Tour

Enjoy a guided electric bike tour or rent an electric bike at Pedego Electric Bikes Livermore! This is truly a unique and fun way to explore the Livermore Valley.

No need to work too hard with their throttle and the pedal-assist motor and their location is perfect for exploring Downtown Livermore, Livermore Valley vineyards, and countryside.

Downtown Livermore

There is so much to explore in Downtown Livermore. Enjoy the historic charm and lively streets lined with shops, cafes, restaurants, and more. Almost Famous Wine Companyย 

For those who love live music or wine, or both, Almost Famous Wine Company should be added to your itinerary. The Almost Famous Wine Lounge is becoming known as the East Bayโ€™s premier blues and roots music club. Shows include bands and musicians such as Big Brother and the Holding Company, one of the psychedelic bands that came out of San Francisco in the summer of 1965.ย 

Food such as wraps, salads, and cheese boards are available for purchase during the show as well as a menu of wines and some non-alcoholic options.

TIP: Tickets for the shows sell out quickly so be sure to book tickets in advance.

Uncle Yuโ€™s at the Vineyard

Uncle Yuโ€™s at the Vineyard offers Asian cuisine with an innovative twist. The restaurant received Diablo magazine’s Best of the East Bay Award and the Best of Award of Excellence. If youโ€™re planning to dine for dinner reservations are recommended.

Posada Alta Cocina

Posada is a high-end restaurant pairing Southwestern flavors with their extensive wine selection. You can expect contemporary cuisine and exceptional hospitality when dining at Posada. Reservations are highly recommended.

Monicaโ€™s

Monicaโ€™s is locals favorite and after a visit, youโ€™ll see why. Itโ€™s located in what was formerly one of Livermoreโ€™s first wineries and has that downtown charm. Monicaโ€™s is big on farm-to-table offerings and serves up sweet and savory breakfast dishes, bakery treats, as well as delicious lunch options.

Things to Do in Pleasanton CA

Pleasanton, California is a charming city known for its historic downtown area. The city has an array of locally owned boutique shops, art galleries, and gourmet eateries. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the picturesque parks and trails that are located only minutes away from the downtown area.

Downtown Pleasanton

Downtown Pleasanton, California, embodies small-town charm with its picturesque streets and historic architecture. Visitors can enjoy strolling the streets lined with boutiques, cozy cafes, and restaurants, and more. And if youโ€™re visiting on a Saturday be sure to check out the Downtown Pleasanton Farmer’s Market from 9am – 1pm, year-round.ย

Oyo

If youโ€™re looking for South American fare rooted in indigenous dishes and Guyanese, Eastern Asian, West African, and Spanish cuisines, then Oyo needs to be added to your list. The unique flavors and attention to detail are what make this restaurant so special. Weekend reservations are highly recommended for weekend dining.

Nonniโ€™s Bistro

Nonniโ€™s Bistro is located in the heart of downtown Pleasanton and serves up delicious menu items for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. This bustling restaurant also hosts events and live music on Sundays.

Meadowlark Dairy

Not a restaurant but a must if you have a sweet tooth, Meadowlark Dairy is part of the Tri-Valley Ice Cream Trail and is worth the stop. Meadowlark Dairy was founded in the early 1900s and is known for its massive soft-serve ice creams.

Pleasanton Hiking

Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park

Only an 8-minute drive from Downtown Pleasanton, this 9,090-acre parkland offers stunning views of Pleasanton and the Livermore Valley. Head to the Foothill Staging Area where you can hike approximately 18 miles of trails to the Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park.ย 

The multi-purpose trail is open to hikers, bicyclists, and horses. Limited parking is available and the park is free to enter.

Things to Do in Danville CA

Located in San Ramon Valley, Danville, California, combines downtown charm, modern restaurants, and a vibrant art scene. Nature lovers can appreciate exploring the scenic beauty of Mount Diablo State Park, whether hiking the trails or enjoying the panoramic vistas.

Downtown Danville

Downtown Danville is a historic town where you’ll find boutiques, locally-owned restaurants, galleries, and so much more! Danville was once a busy railway depot and at the San Ramon Valley Museum, previously known as the Southern Pacific Railroad youโ€™ll find a life-size train car commemorating the townโ€™s history.

Danville Hiking

Mt. Diablo State Park

Elevated 3,849 feet above California, Mt. Diablo is home to unique geological landmarks, rare plants, and more in its 20,000 acres of explorable terrain. There are a variety of outdoor recreational activities to be enjoyed at Mount Diablo State Park from hiking, cycling, wildflower watching, camping, and more.

Enjoy the views of the rolling hills, go bird-watching, or even rock climbing. There are so many things to die in this state park that are suitable for just about everyone. And getting to the top isnโ€™t just for hikers, you can drive to the summit!

Sideboard Neighborhood Kitchen and Coffee Bar is a local favorite sourcing local, organic, and sustainable ingredients. Eating at Sideboard feels like youโ€™re eating at home and offers various comfort food menu items.ย 

Danville Harvest

Danville Harvest is located in the heart of Downtown Danville and is known for using fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. The restaurant serves up brunch, lunch, Happy Hour, and dinner.

Bridges Restaurant

Bridges Restaurant in Danville, CA, is known for its elegant ambiance and excellent cuisine. The restaurant is housed in a historic building and made even more famous by the โ€œHeimlich maneuver sceneโ€ in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire, starring Robin Williams.
